Why Sponsor? In addition to the granite Monument, an Educational Project will be included where Garfield High School students will interview GHS Vietnam Era Veterans to document firsthand accounts of their experiences and how the war affected their lives and that of their families. The benefit will be two-fold: to educate young people in the real-life experience of war time and the audio/video interviews will then be placed as a permanent record in the East Los Angeles Library (the largest existing Chicano/Latino archive of historical documentation). We remember and honor the GHS Vietnam War Era Veterans and at the same time, teach the current generation of students who will participate in and create a permanent historial record. Your support and sponsorship will hold great meaning to those being remembered, their families, and to the Bulldog community. In addition, the Committee will post your support on our website so as to hopefully inspire others to also Sponsor.
